This is one of my new favorite love stories! I adored this book, and it was beautifully written and poignant. The premise drew me in: At age 36, Laurie's long-time boyfriend for over a decade suddenly decides to end things, only to quickly land in another relationship and suddenly be expecting a baby (he said he didn't want kids) with his new girlfriend. Since they work together, she wants to save face - and she wants to make Dan regret dumping her. But how? Enter Jamie Carter - the office playboy who needs a steady girlfriend and "settled" appearance to land a promotion - and they make a deal for a faux romance. Does it stay fake or does it become real? Honestly, I was expecting a very light read - but this book was brilliant - it was deep AND also had the British perfection of making it irresistibly sweet and heartwarming. I love, love, LOVED this book!
